London Is Always A Good Idea - LFW Ready-To-Wear

Hi everybody!

London Fashion Week was a massive hit! "London Fashion Week is so different from any of the others. Compared to the strictness in New Tork, London seems freer from commercial constraints. Truer to the process, to street style, to a sense of humour"  -Alexa Chung

And you know we Brits love a bit of humour.

JEAN_PIERRE BRAGANZA
Sex was on the mind of the one and only when creating this collection. It was very saucy and definitely a little questionable. Nevertheless, it was a feast for the eyes as the models walked out in monochromed outfits; very rocker chic style.

CHRISTOPHER RAEBURN
Style meets sustainability as Christopher Raeburn, known best for his utility leanings, showed the sexy side of functional fashion in his SS15 collection, although more fashion than functional. The sheer layers and patch work looked amazing on the runway on oversized T shirts and shirt dresses.

MULBERRY
No captain? No problem! Emma Hill departed from Mulberry last year but the label still maintains the British charm. The SS15 collection was youthful and modern mixed with a very classic style.

MARCHESA
From Hollywood Boulevard to London Town, Marchesa brings out ready to wear pieces that are red carpet ready. It was sophistication and sparkle as Marchesa maintains detailed brilliance and class. The label left their home grounds in New York and visited London to celebrate ten years of fashion forward creations.

HOUSE OF HOLLAND
"Be strong, sexy, confident. You're on the list"
It was a kaleidoscope of colours that was seen on the runway. The shift dresses had fun little prints and artistic designs on them. It was fun and youthful but still keeping the street chic style.

JW ANDERSON
How can we not talk about JW Anderson? Refine was taken to a whole new level with the SS15 collection as it was definitely unique and down right memorable. An amazing colour palette was seen, so clean and refined alongside a more than perfect lineup.

HOLLY FULTON
Keeping with the graphic signature aesthetic, the Holly Fulton show had such a naive charm and it was so full of fashionable brilliance. There was a neutral colour scheme but everything was still as sophisticated as can be and there was even florals and sequins. WIN.

JULIEN MACDONALD
It was all signature high wattage glamour and glitz with the Welsh designer's SS15 collection. The skin tight pencil dresses were absolutely beautiful with a hint of transparent tulle. Adding to the perfection, were the amazingly decadent veiled bridal gowns towards the end, what a show!

TOM FORD
Legs, legs, legs. Need I say more? Model after model strutted up and down the runway showing legs that went on for miles. It was a sight for soar eyes with the plunging necklines and sheer hold ups with platform clogs. Definitely more on the sexy, rocker chic end of the spectrum.

ISSA
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, as well as her sister, Pippa are fans of the label and it is understandable why. Issa's SS15 collection consisted of clean cut pieces that are wearable to make any girl feel as elegant as fashion royalty.

BURBERRY PRORSUM
The indigo denim jacket is such a beauty and it stole the hearts of many as it opened the show. Layered below, were dainty tulle dresses which brought out a girly feel. The SS15 collection was very British countryside inspired with the coats and shades of grass greens.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD RED LABEL
Politics was not the only bold statement that was made at the Vivienne Westwood show, the dramatic makeup paired with oversized shirts and tailoring was also quite the statement. The collection was very working woman chic for the everyday woman.

PAUL SMITH
This collection revolved around such effortless beauty. The models were all naturally stylish and there was no 'too much this or too much that', but just the perfect amount. It was about the giant pockets and loose tailoring, again, perfect for the everyday woman.

ASHLEY WILLIAMS
Much love and support goes out to the young designer as this is her first solo show since breaking away from Fashion East. The attitude ridden designer showed us dresses over long tees, all very fun, very playful and youthful; incredibly pretty!

TOPSHOP UNIQUE
The mini makeovers at the Beauty Pit was not the only thing that made guests fall in love with the Topshop Unique show, but the collection was just as brilliant with beach inspired looks. Bold colours were seen, it was highly spirited, sporty and overall fun and youthful.

TEMPERLEY LONDON
Fresh, clean and young. Temperley London showed wearable daywear that were effortless and stylish. All the looks were versatile with slouchy tailoring, another SS15 collection for the everyday woman.

It was such an amazing experience to be apart of London Fashion Week. It was definitely one of the best experiences and by far, the craziest, most stressful but most exciting Fashion Week yet.
