NARS Audacious Lipstick Collection

Hi everybody!

Once again, NARS have outdone themselves by releasing 40 new shades of lipsticks with their Audacious Lipstick Collection. The collection is incredibly impressive with their new formula. The pigmentation of these lipsticks is actually borderline unbelievable and I recommend blotting them off to make it more wearable if you don't want to go all out. It applies really smooth and creamy on the lips and doesn't dry out the lips like a traditional matte lipstick, although having said that, these lipsticks are not exactly fully matte. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and so sleek with a magnetic casing. They look beautiful and fit perfectly into a little clutch/makeup pouch. I have read tons of reviews on these lipsticks for a few months now and there is so much hype about these lipsticks. I absolutely love them and they are just as good as any luxury lipstick brand that have much steeper price tags. I got mine from House of Fraser for £24.00

This collection offers 40 different shades which can be quite overwhelming but the 4 that I have purchased since its release are Charlotte, Audrey, Jane and Olivia. These four shades are actually so different from one another but they are all my favourite type of lipstick shades. Starting with Charlotte that is a burgundy shade that works really nice for autumn/winter and during the festive season. Audrey is gorgeous as well and it is a warm toned reddish plum shade. Jane is a typical shade for me - it is a beautiful peachy rose shade that works well for everyday use. Lastly, Olivia is a medium red with a brown undertone and I have been using that for classic red lip looks.

A rundown of all the shades:

Claudia - cool pink
Marisa - warm pink
Michiyo - shocking pink
Greta - wild azalea
Angela - pink orchid
Janet - deep magenta
Fanny - rich berry
Silvia - radiant orchid
Vera - bright raspberry
Vivien - red plum
Chrlotte - oxblood burgundy
Audrey - red currant
Dominique - pink lilac
Anna - smokey rose
Anita - antique rose
Vanessa - mauve nude
Jane - terracola rose
Brigitte - nude rose
Barbara - tan rose
Raquel - pink beige
Catherine - sunny guava
Julie - nude pink
Juliette - pink coral
Natalie - flamingo
Kelly - coral hibiscus
Grace - bright pink coral
Geraldine - tangerine
Lana - vivid orange red
Annabella - poppy red
Carmen - geranium
Rita - scarlet
Marlene - red brick
Olivia - garnet
Leslie - cherrywood
Sandra - rosewood
Geanne - cherry red
Deborah - chestnut
Bette - bordeaux
Ingrid - merlot
Liv - deep aubergine

I am definitely interested in giving a go at a few other shades, on the top of the list will be Anna and maybe Bette. If you have tried out any of these shades, I would love to hear your thoughts on them so do leave them in the comments. Also, don't forget to check out all of my other social media sites.

Have a great day ! Xx

Mascara Madness - Mascara Favourites of 2014

Hi everybody!

Last week, I uploaded my favourite matte lipsticks of 2014 and this week, I will be doing my favourite mascaras for 2014. I love a good lip and lash look and we can go on for days about it and I honestly cannot count on two hands how many "favourite" mascaras I have owned throughout the year. I have managed to narrow it down so let us get to it.

Dior Addict It-Lash Mascara
Check it out here
VOLUME AND LENGTH - VIBRANT COLOURS
I believe it was in the summer of '14 when Dior released this collection and it was the summer of colour which resulted in a collection of bold and different colours. I believe the Electric Blue shade will look absolutely gorgeous and so will the purple in the summer but today, I will be doing with the traditional black. It keeps lashes separated and really focuses on length and volume. It also does not get all over the eyelid and applies like a dream. I got mine from House of Fraser for £22.00.

Benefit They're Real Mascara
Check it out here
I think this is one of those products that has been raved over hundreds and thousands of times and that is only because it just works! It is absolutely amazing and claims to be UK's no 1 best selling mascara by Benefit themselves. I believe I am already on my 3rd one of these. It doesn't smudge or clump the lashes. Its so good for everyday and I find myself reaching for this all the time, all year round. I got mine from Debenhams for £19.50.

Stila All Day Lash Water Resistant Volumizing Mascara
Check it out here
This was quite an accidental stumble-upon for me in Harvey Nichols for £15.00. I was recommended this by a good chum of mine and fell in love with it. It is highly water-resistant and stays in place all day. It is perfect for busy days if you have a lot of running around to do and if you are travelling as well.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Rocket and The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
Check it out here
These were absolute classics all throughout 2014 and I think almost every girl has one or the other in their makeup collection. In my case, I love them both and I cannot pick one to be my favourite. I started with Falsies and moved on to Rocket and both of them work just as amazingly and gives such great results. These are probably one of the higher quality drugstore products. I got mine at Superdrug for £7.99.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
Check it out here
I just had to include this in my favourites list because this mascara has done wonders for me. I saw Tanya Burr use this quite a while ago and decided to get one of my own. The formula is designed to be smudge resistant so I never have to worry about building up the mascara on my bottom lashes. The wand is the tiniest one I have seen and it works really well to lengthen the bottom lashes and give a doe-eyed effect. For £13.00, I got mine from Boots.

I hope you have enjoyed taking a look into what mascaras did me well in 2014 and comment below sharing your favourite mascara/lash product for 2014 or share your views on any of these products if you have tried them out. Don't forget to check out my other social media sites as well.

Have a great day ! Xx

2014 Matte Lipstick Favourites

Hi everybody!

To be completely honest, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks were what inspired me to do this entry. Early September this year, Charlotte Tilbury released the new matte lipstick range and I was so impressed with them that I found myself looking for more matte lipsticks that were more affordable and to expand my collection. After trying quite a number of matte lipstick collections, I picked out a few favourites. I tried to range it from more highstreet/drugstore brands to more high end collections for a good mix.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution
Check it out here
Charlotte Tilbury broke new ground with the Matte Revolution collection as the matte lipstick of the future with a brand new formulation that does not dry the lips unlike most other matte lipsticks. It has SPF protection and is hydrating alongside the fact that it stays put all day. The square angled tip also makes application a lot easier and helps in precision. My favourite shades are Glastonberry which is perfect for the holidays and Walk of Shame for days when I am not as daring. I got mine at Selfridges for £23.00.

Clinque Long Last Soft Matte
Check it out here
"Long wearing formula keeps it just-applies look for hours. Non-drying, non-feathering. Full coverage, velvety, soft matte finish. Allergy tested and 100% fragrance free" - Clinique
Everything you could ever want in an £18.00 silver barrel of lipstick. From this collection, I am obsessed with Matte Petal which is the most gorgeous pretty-girl-pink and it just looks absolutely lovely. It has a slight blue undertone as well and is just perfect for most days. I got mine from Debenhams.

Sleek True Colour
Check it out here
Sleek is one of the best highstreet/ drugstore brands out there in my opinion however I don't always go for Sleek when it comes to lippies but these True Colour lipsticks are absolutely brilliant - so affordable and there is a good range of colours in there as well. The formula works so well, it is not drying and overall pretty good quality for its price tag. You can get these True Colour lipsticks at mostly any drugstore and I get mine from either Boots or Superdrug for £4.99. If you are looking for a nice cheaper lipstick, this is a bargain. My favourite shade would have to be Barely There but Russian Roulette and Peaches and Cream are major contenders as well.

NARS Pure Matte
Check it out here
Another amazing product by NARS that I will be raving about.. surprise surprise, I know. This product is one of the best matte lipsticks that I have tried and one of my favourites/go-tos. It is long wearing, pigmented like most if not all of the other NARS lipsticks and the application is super easy as well as it goes on really smoothly and effortlessly. It doesn't tug like a typical matte lipstick does. My favourite shade would be Montego Bay and I purchased this from House of Fraser for £19.50.

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm
Check it out here
"Vibrant colours infused with a Triple Balm Complex give you a bold, beautiful lip. Its a burst of matte colour with a balm-like feel. Go bold and get moisturised in 10 craveable, collectible shades" - Revlon
Because of the balm formula, this product is extra moisturising on the lips and gives a matte finish. I would suggest to stay away from the nude shades as they do not give as good of a finish compared to the darker shades. I am in love with Sultry from this collection although it looks darker on the lips than it does in its packaging. I got mine for £5.00 from Superdrug.

And that rounds up my favourite matte lipsticks of 2014. Comment below sharing your views on any of these products if you have tried them out. Don't forget to check out my social media sites as well.

Have a great day ! Xx

Product Of The Month

Hi everybody!

This Product Of The Month post will be for the month of December'14. I have chosen the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara to be my favourite and mostly used mascara in December. As quoted by Tarte, the Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara can be considered the push-up bra for lashes as it does 4 main tasks - lengthening, curling, volumizing and conditioning. In the beginning, I thought that was a lot to live up to and to be honest, I was not expecting the product to live up to it's marketing phrase. However, to my surprise, it actually works! After doing some research, I found that it is actually dermatologist and clinically proven which makes me feel a lot more comfortable. Lights, Camera, Lashes gives quite a dark and dramatic look when applied quite heavily and it is perfect for nights out and if your are going for more of a bold lash look. It does photograph nicely and lifts the eye. I love a good mascara on a night out and with December being a month of so much festivities, it was just perfect to have this in my makeup stash.  I got mine at QVCUK for £17.76.

Check out my previous Product Of The Month blog post which I did on the Zoeva Graphic Eyes Eyeliners and check out my other social media sites as well. Don't forget to comment below sharing your views on the Tarte Lights, Camera Lashes if you have tried them out.

Have a great day ! Xx

2.0.1.5

Hi everybody!

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

First of all, allow me to begin by wishing all of you a very Happy New Year, may 2015 be the year of good luck, good love and good living. I hope you are all well and I hope 2015 has been good to you so far. I actually cannot believe that we are in the year 2015, it feels a little surreal how time flies. For me to say 2014 has been the "best year ever" would be a complete lie as it has been more than challenging if I may say so myself. However with challenges comes the lessons and the learning, knowledge alongside experiences. I am truly blessed and thankful for all the good and bad in 2014 and if anything, it has made me question my current position in general.

One of the highlights of 2014 would definitely be London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week. The opportunity I will title Once in A Lifetime. On the more personal aspect of life would be being able to travel to a few different countries as well as parts of the UK with family, friends and my boyfriend. 2014 was definitely one of my more active years in the blogging world which makes me really proud and happy as it was one of my resolutions in 2014. I started doing Product Of The Month blog posts every month and successfully done 12 POTM blog posts in 2014 which is quite an achievement that I stuck to it and hopefully will continue to stick to it. On the other hand, the Song Of The Week blog posts are a little behind on the updates but I will stick to that to my best. I have started doing more recipe style blog posts which fulfils the lifestyle aspect of my blog which also makes me very happy. In the summer, I continued with a Summer Simplicity blog series weekly which lasted for a good while. Lastly, the Holiday Collection blog posts for the holiday season. I have reached 500 followers on Instagram and I currently have 337 posts   xx jess

My aspirations for 2015 as far as the blog is concerned is definitely to switch it up slightly and maybe change a few bits here and there. The main focus point for 2015 should be product reviews. I will try my absolute best to keep product reviews on the front this year as I think in 2014, I took product reviews very lightly and didn't do them as much. However, as first and foremost, a beauty blogger, I think product reviews should be updated more frequently which is why that is at the top of the list for me. I will also try and have a fixed update day which at the moment SHOULD be mostly Thursdays and Mondays if I have more content. I have been meaning to have a proper scheduled update day for awhile now but with work being so busy, I just have not been able to find to right time. At my work, we have our busier seasons which will mainly be in the spring/summer and during Fashion Month seasons which can get a little crazy and super super busy so I don't want to promise anything but again, I will try my absolute best to update the blog weekly, on Thursdays. I will continue with the Product Of The Month blog posts at the beginning of every month and hopefully will be able to do another 12 this year.

My other 2015 resolutions will include having more "me time" whether it means spending another 15 minutes in the bath or going to bed and extra hour early to have a lay down or taking a weekend break. Continuing nicely from that, I would like to make more of an effort to visit family back home. I have been rubbish at going home in 2014 as I only did so a total of 2 times... which is way too little and I think my least one yet in 4 years since I moved away. I rediscovered the importance of family support when I went back for Father's Day and since then I have not had the time to go back (as usual) but I did do so during the holidays which was so rewarding. I also plan to do a lot more travelling this year, hopefully more personal fun trips rather than work-meeting trips. Very boringly. I also need, emphasising NEED to start working on more homemade food and doing a lot more cooking as I have a take away way too often and I have plans to move into a bigger house with my boyfriend hopefully after the summer which means I need to start working on my inner household goddess, again emphasising on the NEED and it all has to start in the kitchen. I am not going to lie, I make quite a rubbish cook but I will definitely make more of an effort. I also plan to get fitter, healthier and hopefully at the end of the year, feel like a stronger gal. Drinking plenty of fluids will be at the top of my concerns this year as I absolutely have to take drinking water much more seriously and keep a good amount of fluid in my system.

We have come to the end now and I would love to know what your 2015 resolutions are so do leave them in the comments as well. Check out all my other social media sites that I will leave below. I love you guys and I thank you all for your continuous love and support throughout 2014 and just know that all of this as much as it is so rewarding for me, is for you guys. I would like to wish you a blessed and wonderful new year. Big love xx

May your days be as glittery as diamonds,  may your friends be as good as gold, may your heart stay as green as emerald and may your soul remain as pure as pearl.
