C2C - Christmas Films

Hi everybody!
Come this time of the year, I usually get out all the Christmas films that I own which are mainly DVD copies and a few that I have downloaded. Now because I start watching Christmas films in November, I am slightly ahead and during then the films on television have not yet progressed into Christmas themed movies.

So, I have decided to share with all of you, some of my all time favourite Christmas films.

Elf
Now Elf is probably my all time favourite Christmas films, ever! Honestly, I watched it every single year at Christmas time for as long as I could remember and I believe that I will continue watching it for a very very very long time.

Basically, it is a film starring Will Ferrell and it is about a baby boy who was brought back to the North Pole by Santa Claus by accident and at the North Pole, the dad of all the elfs had volunteered to raise this baby. And obviously, because he's actually a real human being and not an elf, he is really big in size compared to all the other elfs and he has zero toy-making skills. However, he is unaware of the fact that he is not a real elf as he was raised as an elf. He then finds out the truth that his real parents had given him up for adoption. He goes to New York to look for his real father. The story continues about him and his dad trying to form a relationship together, meeting the rest of the family, getting into a fight and the classic happy ending on Christmas Eve.

I think its a nice little story and it is the best Christmas film of all time.

Fred Claus
This film is about Fred Claus who is played by Vince Vaughn who has spent all his life living in the shadow of his younger brother who was in fast Father Christmas. When they gee up, his brother became the model of giving while Fred became to polar opposite. His dirty dealings lands him in jail and very reluctantly, his brother invites him to the North Pole to work off his debt by making toys. He has no holiday spirit and ends up turning the workshop around which put his brother in a very angry mood. His brother is now in a very bad state of health and it is up to Fred to save Christmas and deliver presents to all the kids in a very short amount of time.

Four Christmases
This one is a little more of a grown up Christmas film I guess you could say, it doesn't have anything to do with Santa Claus or Father Christmas but its just more towards how important it is to be around family especially during this time of the year. I really like this one just for a slight change every noe and then and you can manage to get a good laugh out of this one as well.

Again, it is starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon. They play a couple who have been together for many years and have no intention of getting married or having children. On Christmas morning, they are on their way to go on holiday as they do not want to go home to visit their four divorced parents. At the airport, they are told that all flights are cancelled and a television news crew interviews them  revealing to their family that they are actually going to be free for Christmas day. The story continues to be about them visiting their parents and expecting the worse. It then goes on to become slightly deeper when they start to question their own relationship and their wants for the future.

The Polar Express
This is a childhood favourite of mine and I remember watching it all the time when I was younger.

It is about a boy, Billy, played by Hayden McFarland who longs to believe in Santa Claus but finds it quite difficult to do so with his family's insistence that its all just a myth. This all changes on Christmas Eve when a mysterious train visits Billy in the middle of the night promising to take him and a group of other lucky children to the North Pole to visit Santa. The train's conductor along with the other passengers help turn Billy's crisis in faith into a journey of self-discovery.

Christmas At The Castlebury Hall
I have to admit that this is quite a random one and probably one that not many of you are familiar with. I remember watching this on the aeroplane once and absolutely fell in love with it and now it is one of my favourites as well.

Played by Katie McGrath, Jules Daly is struggling to make the ends meet while working in an antique store and raising her orphaned niece and nephew. Days before Christmas, she gets laid off from her job and her car breaks down. Things take a turn for the better when they are invited by the children's estranged grandfather, the great Duke Edward Huntington to spend Christmas at the family's Castlebury Hall. They then discover a small piece of family history of how their grandfather actually never approved of their mother. Jules finds true love and the three of them got an amazing Christmas experience.

Home Alone 2: Lost In New York
I can't be sure if this is a real Christmas film but nevertheless, it is still a great film and I always seem to end up watching it during this time of the year.

Though I am 99% sure that all of you already know the story, it is about a little boy, Kevin who gets left behind when the family intends on taking a family holiday to Miami. Kevin gets on the wrong flight and ends up going to New York City.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas
This is obviously another classic and I am positive that everyone knows this film.

Inside a snowflake exists the magical land of Whoville which is home to the Whos an almost mutated sort of munchkinlike people. All the Whos love Christmas, yet outside of their beloved Whoville lives the Grinch who is a nasty creature that hates Christmas, and plots to steal it away from the Whos which he equally abhors.

Right so those are some of my favourite Christmas films, do check it out if you have not watched it already. Comment below sharing anymore of your favourite Christmas films. Countdown2Christmas continues tomorrow so do make sure you look out for that you guys <3
